About This Course
This course provides an overview of the typical roles and responsibilities of a product and/or test engineer. It explains the concepts of a Product Life Cycle (PLC) and goes into the basic architecture of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and the test programs developed to test products. It will explain the test methodologies employed in common tests and will demonstrate the concepts and applications used in high volume testing.
Learning Objectives
Successful students will be able to:
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of a Product Engineer/Test Engineer and the skills needed (e.g. debugging hardware or test program problems, analysing yields, etc.)
- Know the concepts of a Product Life Cycle
- Get familiar with ATE tester architecture (e.g. Advantest V93k, etc.)
- Understand the basics of a test program framework and the interaction of a test program
- with any ATE tester platform
- Understand basic test methods for various types of tests (e.g. opens/shorts/leakage/BIST/SBFT, etc.)
- Have a better understanding of the challenges of High-Volume Testing
