About This Program
The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the hottest trends and becoming ubiquitous not only in consumer devices, but also in manufacturing and industry due to its importance as one of the key enablers of Industrial 4.0, as well as the ability to perform remote monitoring, remote control and remote maintenance/troubleshooting of industrial manufacturing machines and processes. In view of this, it is necessary for everyone, particularly industrial workers such as production and automation engineers to be familiar with the concept, components, architecture and application of IoT. Towards this end, the target of this course is to provide a good overview of IoT and its applications in the industry.
In this course, participants will be introduced to the concept of Industrial 4.0 (I4.0) and the Internet of Things (IoT). They will also be expose to the interaction of different IoT components such as sensor hub, gateway, cloud whereby the general architecture, function, features and selection criteria for each component will be covered in detail, both from a hardware and software perspective.
