The role of embedded systems is becoming more and more important today. From automotive and medical devices to consumer electronics, embedded systems are omnipresent in our daily lives, as they impact the way we work and live.

As systems become more and more intelligent and distributed, they also become more complex and interdependent. As a result, issues concerning security, dependability and interoperability requirements continue to grow. Timely and cost-effective system design and development have become major challenges. These challenges can only be addressed effectively through proper education in Embedded Systems design.
